Nigirizushi with Smoked Eel How to make Sushi

Step 1: You will need (for one person):
— 1.5–2 oz/45—60 g prepared sushi rice
— 1.5–2 oz/45—60 g smoked eel
— 1/2 tsp white sesame seeds (to taste)
— 3 thin nori strips

Step 2: Take a cutting board, a sharp knife and a bowl of clean water.

Step 3: Slice the eel slantwise against the grain of the fish about 1/4″ thick. Wash your hands in the bowl.

Step 4: Take 2-3 tsp rice and shape it into a compact oval clump. Wash your hands in the bowl after handling the rice.

Step 5: Place one slice of eel on top of the rice clump and press them together.

Step 6: Bind the eel and the rice with a nori strip.

Step 7: Attach the nori ends to each other with rice grains or with water and cut off the remaining part.

Step 8: Decorate the nigiri with some sesame seeds.

Step 9: Make three such pieces for one person.

Step 10: Serve with soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.
