Beaded Figures: Lessons

Lovely beaded figurines of animals, flowers, people or anything else. You can wear them as key chains or just use them as decorations for your book shelf or dressing table.
Dragonfly

Dragonfly

This cute little dragonfly resembles a real one. But it won’t fly away from you. You can pin this beaded dragonfly onto your clothes or use it to decorate a house plant. Want the dragonfly to seem more realistic? Then choose translucent beads for the wings, and take shiny or gold-lined beads to make the body. In this beadwork, you will learn the method of parallel beading.

Flower

Flower

This simple flower looks like a child’s drawing. First the first circle, then the second circle. That’s how the flower’s petals are made. Choose medium-sized round seed beads so the flower will be neat. In the instructions below, the flower has one leaf, but you can add the second one at the opposite side of the stem. Then the beadwork will look more beautiful.

Sun

Sun

This bright sun made of yellow seed beads can be used as an applique on clothes. And, if you attach a cord, it can also be used as a pendant. Take a wire and round or cylindrical seed beads. It’s best to use opaque beads so the wire won’t be seen through them.

Crocodile

Crocodile

You can use this crocodile as a mobile phone pendant or as a decoration on a key ring. Just attach a cord to its nose or to the tip of the tail. The crocodile is made of two layers: a bulging back and a bottom part. You can weave it with wire, but if you use a thin nylon thread, the pattern will be arranged in the layers easier. So, you’ll have a three-dimensional crocodile!
