Insert the end of the strip into the slot of the tool (or bend it with your fingers) and roll to the end of the strip. You may use a special slotted tool (as shown), or a slotted toothpick or simply your own fingers and nails.
Take the coil off the tool and let it turn loose. If you need a coil of a specific diameter, use a special circle sizer tool. If the coil doesn’t turn loose by itself, expand the curls with a needle, until the desirable size is achieved.
Fix the loose end to the coil with glue.
Squeeze the coil on both one sides to get a teardrop.
Curve the thin part of the teardrop with your fingers or with the help of the bottom part of the quilling tool (as shown).
