While waiting for a ferry to the town of Martinez, guests of a beach hotel in San Francisco sipped a drink made of Italian sweet vermouth, gin and cherry liqueur. Much time has passed, and the recipe for the Martini cocktail has undergone many changes, but all of its variations have a distinctive sweet dry taste.
You will need (for one portion):
— gin — 60 ml / 2 oz
— dry vermouth — 20 ml / 0.7 oz
— three green olives
— lemon slice
— crushed ice
— martini glass

Measure 20 ml / 0.7 oz of dry vermouth with the jigger and pour into the glass.
