Gunkan-maki rolled in a cucumber stripe instead of nori.
- pre-cooked sushi rice
- red caviar
- a cucumber
- potato peeler
Slice the cucumber using the peeler to get wide strips.
Take some rice and form a cylinder. The cucumber stripe should be approximately 1 cm 1/3 inch wider than the size of the cylinder.
Wrap the cylinder with a cucumber stripe.
Fill gunkan-maki with red caviar.
As well you can fill the gunkan-maki with other ingredients, for example, cream cheese or tobiko caviar.
Serve with soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.
