This is big square sushi rolls. They are prepared with white or colored rice. There are many ways to prepare them. Here’s one of them.
- pre-cooked sushi rice
- smoked salmon
- 1 cucumber
- 2 nori sheets
Take a handful of rice and distribute it evenly onto nori sheet. Leave approximately 1.5 cm 0.5 inch free of rice. Rinse your hands in a bowl.
Wrap cucumber with nori.
Cut the roll in half lengthwise using a wet knife.
Cut in half again so that there are 4 parts in total.
Cut salmon into strips.
Put 2 parts of the roll on another nori sheet in such a way that cucumbers are in corners.
Put a salmon strip between them on top.
Put again 2 quarters of cucumber roll in such a way that the cucumber faces outside and the external part of nori wraps salmon. Fix it to form a square.
Wrap everything with free nori parts.
Moisture the nori edge so that it becomes sticky. Instead of that you can flatten rice grains on it.
Cut the outer edges of the roll so that it looks nicer.
Cut the roll in half using a wet knife.
Cut each part in half once again.
Serve with soy sauce and pickled ginger.
