Focaccia is Italian bread, usually made of pizza dough and flavored with some herbs and vegetables. You can serve it with your favorite salads or meat dishes, or just eat it on its own with some sauces or dips. And in a situation when you have some pizza dough left over but have almost run out of toppings, focaccia is a good way out!

Step 1: You will need:
— pizza dough
— pitted green olives
— cherry tomatoes
— extra virgin olive oil
— dried oregano
— ground black pepper
— salt

Step 2: The first thing you need to do is turn on your oven and preheat it to 220˚C/ 430˚F. While waiting for the oven to heat, cut the tomatoes into halves.

Step 3: Now let’s roll the dough. Sprinkle the table with flour and dip the dough in the flour as well. Focaccia bread should be rather thick, so just flatten it with a rolling pin a bit.

Step 4: Put the dough on the oiled pizza screen.

Tip: You may let it rest for about 15 minutes in a warm place to give the dough the second rise.

Step 5: Now let’s put our toppings on. Start with the olives. Press gently on each one so that each olive lies in a small pit.

Step 6: Add the halved cherry tomatoes, pressing on them the same way.

Step 7: Sprinkle with some salt and dress with olive oil.

Step 8: Season with black pepper and dried oregano.

Step 9: It’s time to put our focaccia in the oven! Keep it in the oven for about 15-20 minutes — it can take more or less than that depending on how quickly your oven bakes. The focaccia should turn golden.

Tip: Rotate the pizza screen a couple of times while baking to make sure that the focaccia cooks evenly.

Step 10: The focaccia is done!
