Dragonfly How to Bead

Step 1: You will need:
— wire
— two purple seed beads 4/0 (for the dragonfly’s eyes)
— blue seed beads 8/0 (for the wings)
— green seed beads 8/0 (for the body)
Thread two purple beads and three green beads onto the wire and position them in the middle of the wire.

Step 2: Bend the wire between the green and the purple beads to separate the green beads and bring them to the second row.

Step 3: Pass the upper end of the wire through the green beads.

Step 4: String four green beads onto one end of the wire.

Step 5: Pass the other end of the wire back up through four green beads.

Step 6: String five green beads onto the end of the wire and secure them as previously.

Step 7:

Step 8: String about 30 blue beads onto the end of the wire and bend the beaded wire to shape the wing.

Step 9: Twist the end of the wire around the base of the wing several times.

Step 10:

Step 11: Make the second wing the same way. String five green beads onto one end of the wire and pass the other end through them as previously.

Step 12: Thread about 20 beads onto one end and bend the beaded wire to shape the wing.

Step 13: Twist the end of the wire around the base of the small wing.

Step 14: Make the second small wing the same way.

Step 15: Make three rows with five, four and three beads to finish the body. Make 15 rows with two beads for the tail.

Step 16: Pass the ends of the wire through the loop several times to secure the pattern.

Step 17: The dragonfly is complete!
